This series is really personal to me. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to read. My taste is all over the place. I’ll pick up just about any kind of book. I wanted a space where I could share my thoughts and experiences with each one. Everything I write here is just my opinion, and I’ll link every book so you can check it out or buy it if you want. Thank you for being here on my book journey.
Later by Stephen King
Genre: Horror
This book was riveting to say the least. I remember picking it up and I can't remember if I ever put it down until it was over. I rarely find horror books truely terrifying but this one gave me chills. The greatest part of this book was the twist at the end. Stephen king truly has a twisted mind and sometimes it's weird but in this instance it was great.
Mondays Not Comin
Genre: Thriller
I could not handle a movie adaptation of this book. It's such an eye opener to how missing black people are really treated. It's also an incredible journey of hoping for a happy ending I've ever had. Reading this book caused me great stress. That automatically makes it a good book in my world. Please also note that what happened to monday should never happen to any kid no matter where they come from.
Forever Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Romance
This book really took me by surprise. Even though the ending is revealed early on, a part of me kept hoping for something happier. So much of what the main character went through felt deeply relatable, especially the way grief was portrayed. I found myself truly mourning alongside her. If this story taught me anything, it’s that life is incredibly short and every moment matters.
The Seven Husbands of Evekyn Hugo
Genre: Romance
I don't know what was romantic about this book. To me it was a tragedy. The entire book I'm screaming Evelyn spit it out. When she finally reaches the end of her story I am devasted. I think listening to the whole story makes her pitiful and perhaps thats exactly what the writer wants for Evelyn. Sympathy. I however do not feel that way instead I feel revolted and I know need a shower.
I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
Genre: Biography
Woof! This book was such an emotional journey. When we think about celebrities we just see famous people. It felt like i was reading someones diary but her story was so similar to mine. I think that this book is a must read for younger women in there 20's. There's something magical about finding your spark in dark moments. It's also brave to say that what happened is not okay.
This Thing Between Us
Genre: Horror
This is the one and only horror book I had to read with the lights on. This book made no sense from the first sentence to the last. However I read all the way through. Maybe that says something about the writers complexity. I'd love to meet Gus Moreno one day and ask "What is wrong with you"? I'd probably say thank you too. This book was the masterpiece the barnes and nobles employee said it was.
The Rescue
Genre: Romance
This book was good. Thats truly the only adjective I have to describe it. It wasn't memorable but, it wasn't boring, It fekt predicatable for a Sparks novel. One Character must always have a troubled past and the other must always solve their problems with love. I consider this an airplane read other wise just take that nap.
Almsost There
Genre: Fantasy
Another young adult novel I recommened for an easy read. Also another series. This one focuses on disney fairy tales but reimagines the happy endings. I love this specific book for it's realism in culture and storytelling. Most disney movie/books love to shy away from racisim but not this one which is something I found refreshing.
Where The Crawdads Sing
Genre: Romance
I love this book. I tried to reread this once a year. I find that everytime I read it I understand Kya a bit more than I did before. This book is so well written at times I often feel like I'm in the marsh while the story is happening. I recommened this to anyone who wasn't forced to read it in highschool. Maybe if you were, your life would be just a little bit better.
Cinder
Genre: Science Fiction
This is a young adult novel just to let you know. It's a series longer than twilight shorter than harry potter. It's a series of fairy tales combined with science. If Cinderella was a cyborg. I always recomend this series because it sparked my love of reading and its an easy read. A great distraction with plenty of novels to go through.
